ikigAI helps people discover their ikigai (reason for being) through two free self-assessments and an AI-generated 5,000+ word personalized analysis called an Ikigai Scroll.

## What is ikigai?

Ikigai is a Japanese concept meaning "reason for being" or "that which makes life worth living." It was studied extensively by psychiatrist Dr. Mieko Kamiya, who in 1966 identified seven psychological needs that contribute to ikigai-kan (the feeling that life is worth living): life satisfaction, change and growth, a bright future, resonance, freedom, self-actualization, and meaning and value.

## How ikigAI works

1. Purpose Flower Assessment (free): Users map their sources of ikigai across four dimensions — what they love, what they are good at, what the world needs, and what they can be paid for. Each dimension collects 3-10 free-text entries (15-100 characters each).

2. Seven Gates Assessment (free): Users rate their ikigai-kan across Dr. Mieko Kamiya's seven psychological needs on a 1-7 scale, with a written reflection (50-700 characters) for each gate.

3. Ikigai Scroll ($15 per credit): After completing both assessments, users can generate a deeply personalized 4,000+ word analysis. The AI synthesizes their assessment responses through the lens of ikigai scholarship including Mieko Kamiya, Viktor Frankl, Ken Mogi, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, and Michiko Kumano. Each scroll includes five sections: Opening (personal recognition), Purpose Flower Analysis (four dimensions), Seven Gates Journey (seven psychological needs), Synthesis (integrated narrative), and Closing (practical ikigai statement).
